Art in AC
Promoting the arts is one important way in which 91ÊÓƵ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾ has served the Atlantic City community. The , which is headquartered at Kramer Hall, also has a gallery and retail space at the Noyes Arts Garage. The Arts Garage hosts exhibits, artists’ studios, events, lectures, and is the home of the African American Heritage Museum of Southern New Jersey. Nearby, 91ÊÓƵ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾ and community members staged productions at Dante Hall Theater, which was managed by 91ÊÓƵ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾ from 2011 to 2020.
Collaborations with local artists and community partners have resulted in a number of important creative projects, including 48 Blocks, an annual event co-sponsored by 91ÊÓƵ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾ with the Atlantic City Arts Foundation. Its goal is to involve the Atlantic City community in the creation and appreciation of art through participatory arts and crafts, music, and other related projects over the course of a weekend and throughout the 48 blocks of Atlantic City’s neighborhoods. The project also works with artists to create more permanent works of art, like the murals that decorate Atlantic City's building exteriors.
