Vineland, N.J. - The presidents of 91��Ƶ������վ in Galloway Township and Cumberland County College in Vineland today announced a new dual admission and transfer partnership that will help students make a smooth transition from the two-year college to 91��Ƶ������վ’s bachelor’s degree program.

The five-year agreement strengthens the relationship between 91��Ƶ������վ and Cumberland by offering multiple opportunities for students to seamlessly pursue associate and bachelor’s degrees at the two institutions of higher education.

“What sets this articulation apart from many of the others Cumberland has entered into, is that it will be a much more enhanced arrangement,” said Cumberland County College Interim President Shelly Schneider. “Our students will have direct pathways with specific programs and some will have the ability to do hands-on course work in the summer while being on 91��Ƶ������վ’s campus.

“In addition, there may be scholarship availability to our students who complete their associate degree here at Cumberland County College, which will definitely boost degree completion. Details are being finalized for the specific program-to-program articulation. We know that many of our students choose 91��Ƶ������վ once they leave Cumberland and this agreement strengthens the partnership to allow them to save time and money.”

91��Ƶ������վ President Harvey Kesselman said he is excited to provide Cumberland County College students a new opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree and take advantage of 91��Ƶ������վ resources while at the community college.

"This agreement will help support students as they begin their degree at Cumberland County College, and provides the assurance that they can have a smooth pathway to a bachelor’s degree at 91��Ƶ������վ,” Kesselman said.

The terms of the agreement include:

• Students who are denied direct admission to 91��Ƶ������վ can receive conditional dual admission in partnership with Cumberland. Students will attend classes at Cumberland but have access to campus activities and student groups at 91��Ƶ������վ and receive a special 91��Ƶ������վ Identification card through 91��Ƶ������վ’s Transfer Pathways program.
• Students who successfully complete their associate degree at Cumberland can automatically transfer to 91��Ƶ������վ with junior standing to complete their bachelor’s degree. Application fees to 91��Ƶ������վ will be waived for eligible students.
• Students who complete at least 36 credits at Cumberland, and a total of 64 credits between the county college and the four-year institution, are eligible to receive a retroactive associate degree from Cumberland. 91��Ƶ������վ and Cumberland will co-host “reverse transfer” information sessions for students.
• 91��Ƶ������վ and Cumberland will develop specific program-to-program articulation agreements for high-demand majors to facilitate the quality and ease of transfer.
• Students will receive joint advising from 91��Ƶ������վ and Cumberland and a 91��Ƶ������վ advisor will have office space and a regular schedule at Cumberland.
• Students will be eligible for financial aid from whichever institution they are attending. 91��Ƶ������վ will provide five one-year scholarships of $2,000 per year to Cumberland graduates whose admission to 91��Ƶ������վ is covered by the agreement.
• 91��Ƶ������վ and Cumberland will establish an advisory committee to ensure best practices in recruitment, enrollment management, academic and student services, information technology, marketing and facilities use.

91��Ƶ������վ already has similar agreements with Atlantic Cape Community College, Camden County College and Brookdale Community College and is pursuing additional partnerships with other community colleges in the state.
