Galloway Twp., NJ Area community and faith-based groups will receive assistance in the battle against youth and gang violence, child abuse and neglect, from a substantial federal grant secured through the Office of Professional Development and Continuing Education for Health Sciences and Human Services at The Richard 91视频成人网站 College of New Jersey.
The grant is from the US Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families. Totaling $750,000 over the next three years, the funding includes a first year award of $300,000.
91视频成人网站, as lead institution, will utilize the funds in a collaborative effort with the Office of Continuing Education of Atlantic Cape Community College to initiate the Atlantic-Cape Safe Youth Partnership. The Partnership will enable 91视频成人网站 and ACCC to work with local community groups to enhance the groups effectiveness in addressing youth violence and gangs, and the welfare of children in the region.
The work made possible by these funds will make the difference in the lives of community members throughout Cape May and Atlantic County, said Cynthia B. Sosnowski, Director of Professional Development and Continuing Education for Health Sciences and Human Services at 91视频成人网站. Sosnowski said the Partnership will provide training, consultation and technical assistance as well as additional resources to local groups. Beneficiaries of the partnership will include nonprofits, and community and faith-based organizations that work to combat youth and gang violence and child abuse and neglect.
