About the Dean's Student Leadership Board
The Dean's Student Leadership Board is a selected committee made up of Majors from the School of Arts and Humanities' Academic Programs. It is an opportunity for students to gain administrative and leadership skills, participate in career mentoring opportunities, and be the voice for students in ARHU.
Students who are invited to participate on the Dean's Student Leadership Board will fulfill leadership roles at ARHU related events, learn from professionals within ARHU and the Arts and Humanities field, and prepare to be a leader in their field of study/industry following graduation.
Application & Interview Process

Application
Students must complete the Dean's Student Leadership Board application by the deadline listed above.

Interview (by invitation only)
Applications will be reviewed within two weeks following the application deadline. Interviews will occur the week following the application review on an invitation basis. Interview invites will be sent via email and recipients will be asked to respond within 48 hours.

Accept seat on DSLB
If offered a seat on the Dean's Student Leadership Board, accept the offer and mark your calendar with the upcoming meeting dates.
- Basic Information. Name, contact information, and demographics.
- One faculty/staff reference. One additional faculty/staff reference may be added, but is not necessary.
- Personal Statement. How does having a background in the arts and humanities help you to play a role in leadership? Maximum of 400 words.
- Academic Resume. This resume can include, but is not limited to, academic standing, extra-curricular activities, other leadership roles on campus, work experience (on and off campus), skills and/or interests. Please include your current GPA (this will be verified during the application review).
Applications are evaluated based on the Dean's Student Leadership Board application rubric.
Once offered and accepted a seat on the Dean's Student Leadership Board, students may remain on the board until graduation, with the exception of extenuating circumstances.
Meet the Members

John Allen is a junior at 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾ that is majoring in Communication Studies with a concentration in Media Production. He has completed many fun projects which includes completing his internship with the TV Community Partnership Program where he was able to work his way up to being a director for the internship. In his free time, John likes to take any opportunity he has to learn new things and meet new people. He hopes to go into the film industry and one day direct his own film. John hopes to create new opportunities for students on campus to be able to put themselves out there and build their confidence and make art so that students can be proud of the things they create.

Brendan Bradley is a senior Performing Arts major with a concentration in Acting and a minor in Creative Writing. Through his time at 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾, he has directed, written musicals, acted, costumed, and is even the next president of 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾ Theatre Club! He also spent his summer as a theatre intern at Cape May Stage! Now, he is ready to brave his final year at 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾.

Paige Cripps (she/they) is a senior Literature major with a concentration in Creative Writing. She is a Radio DJ and E-board Member of 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾'s radio station, 91.7 WLFR FM. She is a published poet/writer; her first poetry collection is entitled Fallen Angels and Other Rotten Things. She won second prize at the 2026 New Jersey Women's and Gender Studies Undergraduate Research Colloquium and was given the opportunity to be a writer-in-residence at the Chateau D'Orquevaux Artists and Writers Residency in France. She is excited to work with fellow DSLB members to positively represent ARHU!

Isabella Garrido is a Philosophy & Religion major with a minor in Spanish. She has always been involved in the arts, along with community service. Passionate about helping others, Isabella plans to pursue a career as a lawyer in the future. She is part of many organizations across campus, such as Sigma Delta Tau, the Office of Community Engagement and Philosophy Honors Society. As a member of the Dean of Leadership Board for the Arts and Humanities at 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾, she hopes to connect with other students and continue to give back to the community.

Jecce Harriott (he/him) is a junior at 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾ majoring in Communication Studies with a concentration in PR & Advertising, and minors in Cannabis Studies and Writing. Jecce is currently the President of the Pride Alliance, the Marketing Officer for the College Democrats, and a writer for The 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾ Argo. Jecce is passionate about advocacy, creative communication, and building inclusive spaces. Whether he’s organizing events or writing articles, Jecce loves finding ways to connect with people and share stories that matter.

Brooke Heritage is currently a sophomore in the Visual Arts program! Brooke spent Spring 2026 working as an intern in the 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾ Art Gallery and loves working on design and curation. Brooke is honored to represent the school’s art community!

Kayla Lavecchia (she/her) is a senior Literature major, concentrating in Literary Studies with minors in Writing and Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies. She works on campus as a T.A.L.O.N.S and a peer writer in The Writing Center. Kayla is also the Editor-in-Chief of The Argo and serves on the S.A.V.E. eboard as Masterbeekeeper. In her free time, you can find her volunteering, reading, or going on adventures with her friends.

Dorrey Lin Lyles is a dynamic vocalist, performer, and leader based in New Jersey. She is internationally recognized as a member of The Weather Girls and has toured throughout Europe with Reverend Gregory M. Kelly & The Best of Harlem Gospel as a lead and background singer, stage director, choreographer, and executive assistant. Passionate about music, ministry, and education, Dorrey also studies Performing Arts with a concentration in Vocal Music at 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾. Her powerful voice and inspiring presence continue to impact audiences across the United States and abroad.

Rain Miller (they/them) is a Senior Literature Major with a concentration in Creative Writing at 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾. They’ve completed a minor in Holocaust & Genocide studies and have interned at the university’s Holocaust Resource Center. Their passion for writing is present in their academic and personal life, with their job as a Peer Writer at the university’s Writing Center and their published poem in Moonstone Arts Center Spring 2025 New Voices Anthology. They plan on continuing their studies by getting their Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing after graduating from 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾.

Abbygale Mooney is a Communication Studies Major with three minors. This past spring, Abbygale had the opportunity to participate in one of 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾â€™s exchange programs, spending the semester in Agia Paraskevi, Greece! As someone who loves to travel, the experience was unforgettable and deeply inspiring. It sparked new dreams and ambitions that Abbygale is eager to pursue. Abbygale is excited to bring this perspective back to 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾ and contribute to the ARHU community through the DSLB. She is looking forward to the Fall 2025 semester. In her free time, Abbygale likes reading and cooking!

Amanda Rogers is a Music Education major with minors in both Childhood Studies and Disability Studies here at 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾. She is involved in numerous musical ensembles and clubs on campus. Amanda has been playing the flute since she was 9 years old, which is where her love and passion for the arts originated. With this passion, she strives to become a music teacher where she will help future students foster a love of the arts, and she hopes to guide students to develop an appreciation of how the arts and humanities can benefit a community.

Diamond Rodgers is a Senior Literature and Communication Studies major in the School of Arts and Humanities.

Diane Soriano is a first-generation college student majoring in Language and Culture Studies while pursuing a K–12 education certification. Passionate about making the most of my educational journey, Diane actively seeks opportunities that help her grow and give back to her community. Diane is excited to serve on the Arts and Humanities Dean’s Student Leadership Board, and separately, to represent her school as an Admission Ambassador—two roles that allow her to support and connect with others in meaningful ways.

Marliza Thomas is a major in Language and Culture Studies and Psychology with minors in Latin America/Caribbean studies, Victimology and Victim services, and Childhood studies. When she is on campus, you can find her either studying, working, or involved with a club on campus. The clubs include, but are not limited to, 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾ Volleyball Club, Student Senate, and Equestrian Club. She is currently the president of 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾ Volleyball and chief of staff for Student Senate. As a member of the Dean of Leadership Board for the Arts and Humanities at 91ÊÓÆµ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾, she hopes to advocate for all of the majors within so that they can all grow to become their best selves.
